NDC Criticizes President Hichilema’s Solar Proposal Amid Economic Struggles

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has slammed President Hakainde Hichilema’s suggestion that load shedding presents an opportunity for individuals to install solar power, citing economic constraints and a high cost of living as major barriers for many Zambians.

NDC leader Saboi Imboela argues that quality solar power installation requires a significant investment, which is out of reach for most Zambians.

She notes that even bank financing for alternative energy sources is limited, making it inaccessible to many.

Imboela urges the government to provide immediate solutions to address the energy crisis, rather than shifting the burden to individuals.

She has emphasized that the government should be more empathetic towards the struggles of ordinary Zambians, who are already grappling with economic hardship.
