The Zambia Federation of Disability Organisations (ZAFOD) has welcomed the government’s endorsement of the Amman-Berlin Declaration on Disability Inclusion. The declaration aims to amplify the voices of persons with disabilities in national development.
ZAFOD Director Justine Bbakali has expressed excitement about the government’s commitment, hoping it will translate into tangible action.
He says persons with disabilities have been marginalised for too long, emphasising the importance of turning promises into reality.
He adds that the endorsement seeks to ensure people with disabilities participate fully and equally in all aspects of life.
