ZRA to Celebrate Patriotic Taxpayers at 2024 Taxpayer Appreciation Day

The Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) will host the 2024 Taxpayer Appreciation Day this Thursday, September 12, to recognize and reward taxpayers who have demonstrated patriotism by dutifully remitting their taxes in the 2023 financial year.

ZRA Corporate Communications Manager Oliver Nzala says the award ceremony aims to honour distinguished taxpayers and traders who have upheld tax compliance through filing tax returns and making timely payments.

Nzala says the event also seeks to encourage citizens to embrace tax compliance, contributing to the national budget and sustaining the economy.

He says this year’s theme, “Taxes Build Zambia,” emphasizes the crucial role taxpayers play in the country’s prosperity.

Nzala further says that the ZRA will recognize taxpayers from various sectors for their resilience and dedication to national development, which contributed to the authority’s historic K100 billion revenue collection.

He notes that while some taxpayers remain non-compliant, the ZRA believes it is essential to celebrate and appreciate those who take their contributions to the state seriously.
